What’s on for the Platinum Jubilee
Carnforth Town Council are hosting a street party in honour of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee on June the 4th. The street will be beautifully decorated with union jack bunting to celebrate our country and community. We invite everyone to come together and enjoy great food and company, as there will be many tables and chairs set up along lower Market Street. Bring your own picnic or try some delicious local cuisine from one of the many food stalls. There will also be a range of entertainment for the whole family to enjoy, from a funfair, craft stalls and street games to live music from local bands! The street party begins at noon and is free for everyone to attend, so make sure you come along!
On Thursday, June the 2nd, Beckside Farm in Killington will host a traditional old English sports meeting for all ages. Killington Sports will begin at 5pm, and guests can participate in a variety of sports such as wrestling, tug of war, tyre race, and many more, making it a fun day out for the whole family! A beacon will also be lit at 9:45pm to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and as part of the national beacon lighting that will take place across the UK. The cost of entry to the event is £5 for adults and £3 for children, however, please note that only cash is accepted.
The Barrow Town hall is stunning Gothic style building situated around 45 minutes away from The Belsfield Hotel. On Thursday, June the 2nd, the Barrow Town Hall will be celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. They will be hosting a fun and exciting street party from 1pm to 5:30pm, with free entertainment all day! Everyone is welcome to attend and join in on the fun!
